Troxevasin capsules how much to drink for hemorrhoids

Contraindications for use

Troxevasin, like any drug, should be used with caution, taking into account the possible risks of developing a negative scenario. . The product for internal use cannot be used for self-prescription, even though it is available over-the-counter

The product for internal use cannot be used for self-prescription, even though it is available over-the-counter.

The absence of requirements for a prescription does not mean that it is necessary to take Troxevasin for hemorrhoids on a self-prescribed basis, without consulting a doctor.

The medicine has strict contraindications. Treatment with Troxevasin can not only cause side effects, but also cause harm to health if the drug is taken for common pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, which may have caused the disease.

Forms of disease of the digestive system, accompanied by diarrhea or constipation, also lead to the development of pathology at the site of frequent and abnormal release of feces.

Before a doctor prescribes Troxevasin capsules for an illness, he studies both the anamnesis and medical history.

Diagnosis, treatment, and prevention regularly carried out by a proctologist confirm that Troxevasin for hemorrhoids is contraindicated in:

  • stomach and duodenal ulcers, in the chronic or acute stage;
  • acute form of gastritis, regardless of its type and duration;
  • if, when used, Troxevasin causes an individual intolerance reaction caused by the active ingredient or another component included in the drug

Taking Troxevasin tablets for hemorrhoids is not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, when the fetus is developing.

But in subsequent periods, it is recommended to use even the gel for hemorrhoids with caution.

Capsules can be taken in the second and third trimester, provided that the potential benefit to the mother’s body outweighs the likely harm to the baby.

If hemorrhoids manifested themselves in a sharp form already in the first trimester of pregnancy, the question of whether Troxevasin can be used in the treatment of the disease is clearly negative.

Analogs

You can replace the ointment (gel) Troxevasin for hemorrhoids with drugs with a similar active ingredient.

Such medicines are:

  • Troxerutin (ointment and capsules);
  • Troxerutin vetprom;
  • Heparin ointment;
  • Troxerutin vramed;
  • Troxevenol (gel);
  • Ascorutin (tablets).

Attention! All these drugs are designed to eliminate swelling of hemorrhoidal cones, soften them, relieve inflammation and pain.

How to use Troxevasin for hemorrhoids

Troxevasin for hemorrhoids is prescribed for internal or external use, it all depends on the form of the disease and how the disease progresses. Accordingly, the treatment regimen and dosage of the medicine differ.

Standard dosage

The treatment regimen and dosage of Troxevasin is determined only by the attending physician. When purchasing a product, the package always contains instructions for use of the drug, which you can always read before using the medication. The maximum therapeutic effect is achieved if the drug is used regularly and simultaneously in different forms.

We will consider below how to use Troxevasin in different dosage forms.

  1. Tablets/capsules. To prevent Troxevasin capsules from irritating the gastric mucosa, they must be consumed with food, washed down with water. The therapeutic dosage of the drug is 2 capsules per day, that is, 600 mg per day. Treatment should last no more than two weeks, but if necessary, the doctor can change the dosage and extend the course of treatment. As maintenance therapy, the drug can be taken 1 capsule for a month. This form is prescribed more often for internal and combined hemorrhoids. For external manifestations of hemorrhoids, a gel is usually prescribed.
  2. Gel/ointment. The gel for hemorrhoids is used topically twice a day. External hemorrhoids should be smeared in the morning and evening after bowel movements. The gel is applied in a thin layer to the problem area, with light massaging movements the product must be distributed on the skin until completely absorbed. The drug can be used differently: take a gauze swab and soak it in ointment, then apply it to the bumps. Troxevasin ointment for hemorrhoids should not be applied to the intestinal mucosa or bleeding wounds. The duration of treatment can be from 2 weeks to a month, depending on the area affected by hemorrhoids and the form of the disease.

Can the gel be used for internal hemorrhoids? In this case, Troxevasin should not be used, since swollen varicose veins are located not outside, but inside the rectal canal. Therefore, administering the drug beyond the anus is contraindicated.

Troxevasin during pregnancy and lactation

During the period of bearing a child, hemorrhoids bring a lot of inconvenience to a pregnant woman. As the fetus grows, the pressure on the organs in the pelvis increases accordingly: problems with bowel movements (constipation), pain and burning in the rectal canal appear. The disease usually manifests itself in the last two trimesters.

If the risk of complications is high, then the doctor prescribes Troxevasin during pregnancy. However, during the period of active fetal formation (up to 12 weeks), this medicine is contraindicated.

The drug can be used during breastfeeding, as it is not absorbed into milk, which means it is absolutely safe for the baby.

Troxevasin for hemorrhoids during pregnancy and lactation significantly alleviates a woman’s condition, improves blood circulation in the pelvic organs, strengthens the venous walls, increases their elasticity, removes inflammation and swelling of the intestines, and helps reduce hemorrhoids.

The full course of therapy lasts at least a month and under the strict supervision of a doctor. You should not prescribe treatment without permission, as this is fraught with unpleasant consequences, primarily for the unborn child.

What other ointments for hemorrhoids during pregnancy are considered safe and effective can be found in an article by a proctologist.

You can find out how effective it is and whether it can be used while carrying a child by reading the material from our author.

Instructions for use for hemorrhoids

According to the official instructions, the ointment is used to treat areas of the body affected by the disease. The procedures are carried out 2 times a day. The composition is applied locally, externally; light rubbing into the epithelial layer is allowed. The course of therapy is 2-4 weeks, subject to daily exposure. When hemorrhoids become inflamed, a gauze swab soaked in gel is applied to them.

The effectiveness of treatment depends on the regularity of use of the pharmaceutical product, since it has a cumulative effect.

Troxevasin capsules for hemorrhoids are used according to a different scheme:

  1. During breakfast, in the morning – 1 capsule (300 mg).
  2. At dinner, in the evening – 1 capsule (300 mg).
  3. For the treatment of acute disease - up to 800 mg per day, as prescribed by a doctor.
  4. Tablets are used for preventive purposes - 1 pc. per day, as well as in the process of recovery after exacerbation of chronic hemorrhoids.
  5. Duration of treatment is from 1 to 3 months, according to the recommendation of a proctologist.

Rules for using the medicine

The instructions supplied with the drug indicate how to use Troxevasin for hemorrhoids, depending on the form of release and the severity of the disease.

Pills

Capsules for hemorrhoids should be taken during meals with plenty of water. The dosage depends on the severity of symptoms:

  • Acute and exacerbation of chronic. The tablets are taken three times a day.
  • Prevention of exacerbations of chronic disease. Drink one capsule per day.

The therapeutic course should not exceed 2 weeks. If it is necessary to continue treatment further, then it is necessary to take a short break.

You can take Troxevasin capsules only after consulting your doctor. The medication has contraindications and can be dangerous in some concomitant pathologies.

Gel

The instructions for use indicate that Troxevasin should be applied twice a day to clean, intact skin. Do not apply ointment to areas of bleeding, ulcers or necrosis. But how to use it for internal hemorrhoids? It is necessary to consider the features of use depending on the location of the vascular cones:

  • External (varicose veins are localized outside the anus). Apply to clean, towel-dried skin. To increase the therapeutic effect, the ointment can be used as a compress: squeeze a small amount of ointment onto a gauze napkin, apply it to the anus at night and fix it.
  • Internal (vascular formations are localized on the intestinal wall). A tampon is soaked in the gel and inserted into the rectum overnight.
  • Mixed (is a more severe form and the bumps are located simultaneously on the intestines and anus). With this type of pathology, a combination of the 2 methods described above is desirable.

To increase the therapeutic effect, patients are often prescribed the combined use of capsules and ointments.

Release form and active substance

"Troxevasin" for hemorrhoids is produced and released in the form of capsules/tablets, gels and ointments.

Ointment for hemorrhoids "Troxevasin" is used externally, applied to nodular formations. For internal use, capsules are used, taking the drug according to the approved regimen.

The basis of the drug is troxerutin. This substance is an analogue of rutin from the group of bioflavonoids.

The list of excipients in the composition of the drug depends on the form of release of the drug.

Note! Tablet forms of the drug may not have a therapeutic effect if swelling and other manifestations are associated with kidney disease.

special instructions

Troxevasin against hemorrhoids is approved for children, adolescents, and pregnant women. The drug can be used while breastfeeding, it does not pass into milk and is completely safe for babies.

During lactation, it is better to use a gel; it is rubbed into protruding nodes or night compresses are made.

Hemorrhoids can be treated with Troxevasin in both the acute and chronic stages. The drug is used after surgical interventions; regular applications help relieve discomfort during the rehabilitation period.

How does Troxevasin work?

This medication is prescribed in one form or another depending on what form of hemorrhoids develops.

Thus, external hemorrhoids are treated with Troxevasin gel or ointment. According to the instructions, the product should be applied after hygiene procedures for the rectal area on the bumps themselves. The full course of treatment is usually determined by the attending physician: it takes from 1 to 3 months.

Treatment of internal nodes is treated with rectal suppositories Troxevasin, which are used 2-3 times a day immediately after bowel movements and hygiene. Strict adherence to the instructions (regular use of suppositories) guarantees high effectiveness of treatment. Often, along with this drug, the proctologist also prescribes accompanying methods that enhance the healing effect. This is, for example, following a diet, traditional medicine or special gymnastic exercises.

For general treatment, Troxevasin capsules or tablets are used. Their action is aimed at generally strengthening the depleted walls of blood vessels: after just 2 weeks of regular use, the venous walls become more elastic. In addition, Troxevasin tablets and capsules improve blood circulation in the pelvic area, remove blood stagnation and hemorrhoids.

Ointments and tablets of this brand do an excellent job with the unpleasant symptoms of hemorrhoids: they relieve swelling, eliminate pain, unpleasant itching and burning.

Heparin ointment and Troxevasin - which is more effective?

Heparin ointment has long been a well-known medicine that has been tested by time and folk experience. This ointment began to be used from the middle of the last century, and since that time it has not lost its effectiveness in the treatment of various forms of hemorrhoids.

Regular use of this remedy not only reduces the time of exacerbation of the disease, but also relieves all unpleasant symptoms of the disease in a short time. It is freely sold in any pharmacy, is quite cheap (up to 150 rubles) and does not lose its effectiveness.

Heparin ointment is a drug for external use, a direct-acting anticoagulant. Its active substance, heparin, has an anti-inflammatory effect on the damaged area, preventing the formation of blood clots. This medicinal drug eliminates congestion in the veins, helps destroy blood clots, relieves pain and dilates blood vessels in the pelvic area. Such unpleasant symptoms as burning, pain and inflammation cease to bother the patient after just one day of use.

Thanks to its composition, heparin ointment eliminates severe signs of hemorrhoids in a short time without harm to the body. It can be used for any form, be it acute hemorrhoids or a chronic form of the disease.

The main medicinal qualities of the ointment:

  • reduction of the inflammation process (and all the unpleasant symptoms associated with it: burning, feeling of fullness, constant itching);
  • relief of pain;
  • blocking the formation of new nodes (blood thinning and normalization of blood circulation).

The use of ointment is more effective in the treatment of external hemorrhoids. If hemorrhoids are accompanied by bleeding, the use of ointment is not recommended.

In addition, treatment with heparin ointment is prohibited if the patient has:

  • problems with blood clotting;
  • damage to the skin surface in the rectal area;
  • there are purulent-inflammatory areas;
  • high blood pressure;
  • ulcer or acute gastritis;
  • liver diseases.

Women during menstruation are also not recommended to use this ointment. For the treatment of hemorrhoids during pregnancy, this drug can be used on the recommendation of a doctor.

A comparison between Troxevasin gel and Heparin ointment has not been specifically carried out, so there is no clear answer to the question “what is the best way to treat hemorrhoids.”

However, as a result of numerous individual studies of drugs, several conclusions can be drawn:

  • Heparin ointment quickly relieves the unpleasant symptoms of hemorrhoids, removes painful bumps and burning sensation;
  • This ointment has a wider spectrum of action;
  • For weeping hemorrhoids and bleeding during illness, it is better to use Troxevasin;
  • When treating problems with veins in the rectal area, Troxevasin gel is more effective;
  • Heparin ointment is 2-3 times cheaper.

A medicine that has been tested by time and numerous experiences of patients treating an unpleasant and delicate problem is the drug Troxevasin for hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are an unpleasant disease that can be passed on genetically. The main reason for the appearance and development of this disease is an increase in the venous plexuses in the rectum. After this, hemorrhoidal bumps appear near the anus. As a result of pressure exerted on the pelvic organs (pregnancy, excess weight, etc.), the veins enlarge, filling with blood, which causes acute pain, a feeling of fullness and other specific symptoms.

Using the drug for hemorrhoids as part of complex therapy is the key to effective treatment and complete recovery. The main thing is regular use.

Mechanism of action

The main active ingredient of Troxevasin, regardless of the form of release, is troxerutin. It belongs to the class of flavonoids and is a semi-synthetic derivative of vitamin P. Thanks to this component, Troxevasin has an angioprotective effect directly on the veins and capillaries.

Due to the fact that as a result of disruption of the functioning of the sphincters of the veins, they become overfilled. The walls of blood vessels under constant pressure become weak and lose their tone. Troxerutin acts at the cellular level. It strengthens the wall of cell membranes and enhances the venotonic and angioprotective effects of vitamin C. In addition, troxerutin prevents thrombus formation in dilated hemorrhoids. This is due to the fact that it prevents platelets from sticking together at the site of the inflamed vascular wall.

All forms of troxevasin are able to reduce the permeability of the vascular wall, reducing inflammation and swelling. Customer reviews also speak about this.

Thus, the main properties that treatment with Troxevasin provides are:

  1. Angioprotection.
  2. Increased vascular tone.
  3. Reduced permeability of the vascular wall.
  4. Reducing the risk of blood clots.
  5. Normalization of blood flow in the veins.
  6. Reducing inflammation and swelling.
  7. Eliminate itching, burning and pain, stop bleeding.

Let's consider contraindications and side effects.

All forms of Troxevasin - ointment, gel, capsules, tablets or suppositories - have a number of contraindications.

These, as the instructions indicate, include:

  • Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
  • Age up to 15 years.
  • Kidney failure.
  • Peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum, as well as gastritis.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects, as customer reviews show, are quite rare. These include:

  1. Allergic reactions, manifested in the form of urticaria, itching.
  2. Digestive disorders. They are characterized by nausea, bloating, and loose stools.
  3. Sleep disturbances, headaches.

The above side effects are most common if the drug enters the body in the form of a capsule or tablet. Ointments and gels more often cause local manifestations, such as hyperemia at the site of application, itching, burning, dermatitis

Therefore, they must be used with caution. If you stop treatment, all side effects go away

Reviews from doctors also note this fact.

Features of the use of Troxevasin during pregnancy

In the first trimester of pregnancy, when the embryo develops internal organs and a nervous system, the drug is contraindicated.

In subsequent periods of pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the medicine is used in cases where the expected result of treatment significantly exceeds the risk of complications from the mother or fetus.

Choosing Troxevasin is advisable for congestive processes in the pelvis, which are manifested by pain, constipation, itching in the anus, frequent inflammation with subsequent growth of hemorrhoidal cones. Taking capsules in such cases quickly improves the health of the pregnant woman, normalizes blood flow in the pelvis, restores the strength of blood vessels, and painlessly relieves hemorrhoids.

The use of troxevasin during pregnancy can also be considered as a preventive measure that reduces the load on the vascular system, reducing the degree of swelling and blood stagnation in the pelvic organs.

Instructions for use

The cause of this “inconvenient” disease is a sedentary lifestyle, an unbalanced diet, excess weight and other bad habits. Provoking factors cause increased pressure in the pelvic area. As a result, the veins become filled with blood.

There are quite a few modern methods of treating this delicate illness. One of the most effective drugs is Troxevasin.

It is available in different forms - suppositories, ointment, tablets, gel. Each of them is used in its own cases as prescribed by a doctor. Let's focus on suppositories.

Indications for use

For local treatment of external symptoms of hemorrhoids, gels and ointments are used, which, due to their special composition, quickly penetrate into the site of inflammation. Capsules and suppositories are prescribed to combat the internal manifestations of the disease.

Troxevasin suppositories are prescribed in the following cases:

  • haemorrhoids;
  • thrombophlebitis and other phlebitis;
  • varicose dermatitis;
  • chronic venous insufficiency;
  • varicose veins and varicose ulcers;
  • retinopathy in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Release form and composition

Troxevasin is produced in several forms:

  • gel;
  • ointment;
  • candles (discontinued);
  • capsules.

The active substance of the drug in any form is troxerutin, a derivative of rutin. This substance of semi-synthetic origin affects platelets, preventing them from sticking together. This ensures normal blood flow by reducing blood viscosity.

Auxiliary components include:

  • tablets (colors, lactose monohydrate, gelatin, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide);
  • gel/ointment (water, carbomer, benzalkonium chloride, trolamine, carbomer, disodium edetate dihydrate);
  • suppositories (vaseline, natural oils).

Troxevasin - description and release form

Troxeyavasin is a specialized drug with targeted action. There are two forms of release of the drug - in the form of ointments and in tablets. This drug is included in the pharmacological group of venotonics, phlebotonics and angioprotectors with pronounced effects. With regular and comprehensive use, the product allows you to improve blood circulation, normalize blood circulation, strengthen and protect blood vessels.

Please note: each release form of this drug differs not only in the method of administration, but also in the indications for use, contraindications, precautions, as well as individual benefits.

The ointment of this production is used primarily for the treatment of external hemorrhoids and other inflammatory skin diseases. Tablets are of great benefit for blood clotting pathologies and venous disorders.

Troxevasin generally helps very well against pain, it dries out wounds, even if they contain blood. This is exactly why I liked the ointment, even despite the strong medicinal smell. You get used to it over time.

Main indications

Before using Troxevasin for hemorrhoids, you should familiarize yourself with the list of diseases for which it is prescribed for external use. The list includes:

  • hemorrhoids (external, acute and chronic);
  • venous insufficiency.
  • varicose veins;
  • thrombophlebitis (superficial);
  • swelling in injuries, accompanied by pain;
  • muscle spasms.

"Troxevasin" capsules for hemorrhoids are also prescribed for internal use. They are also prescribed for treatment:

  • varicose veins, varicose ulcers and other manifestations of venous insufficiency;
  • dermatitis caused by varicose veins;
  • thrombophlebitis;
  • retinal diseases in diabetics.

If you use the drug regularly, the outflow of blood from hemorrhoidal formations improves, and the resulting lumps are reabsorbed

Along with this, capsules of this medicine can be used as an additional drug in the treatment of hemorrhoids with Troxevasin (gel/ointment), complex treatment of edema caused by sprains, bruises, etc.

Nature of the problem and ways to solve it

The use of Troxevasin for hemorrhoids is a common treatment tactic, despite the fact that the use of ointment is usually recommended if there is a risk of blood clots or other vascular pathologies.

The pharmacological effect of disease therapy with Troxevasin is due to its active ingredient, troxerutin, which has phlebotonic and angioprotective effects.

In the external form of the disease, this helps to prevent the properties of platelets from sticking together and accumulating in inflammatory foci, and thrombosing the affected vessels.

It reduces the ability to form blood clots and allows the drug to be used in the treatment of the disease.

By increasing vascular patency, the drug Troxevasin eliminates other symptoms of the disease:

  • optimizes venous outflow by strengthening vascular walls and reducing capillary permeability;
  • treatment of the disease is also carried out by relieving negative symptoms - burning, swelling and itching;
  • It is recommended to use the ointment to stimulate venous outflow, which reduces the likelihood of developing an acute stage and bleeding;
  • Troxevasin capsules, used in parallel with ointment or gel, have a systemic effect on the body, and they are prescribed for the treatment of internal forms of the disease.

The domestic industry produces several dosage forms based on the active substance, among which the predominant ones are: Troxevasin gel, capsules and ointment, prescribed depending on the goals of the therapy being undertaken, the condition of the patient’s body, the stage and localization of the main focus of the disease.

The instructions for use of medicines contain instructions on how to use Troxevasin gel or ointment for external hemorrhoids in independent use for hemorrhoids, but does not indicate in which cases one of the forms of the common medication is preferred.

In complex therapy, when gel, capsules or ointment are used in combination with tablets, only the attending physician can indicate the required dosage and frequency of administration.

Composition and release form

Available in the form of tablets (capsules) and gel (ointment).

The main active ingredient is troxerutin from the group of flavonoids.

In dry form, the rutin derivative has the appearance of a pale yellow powder, soluble in water and other liquids.

The drug is non-toxic, has a low level of danger and is completely excreted from the body along with urine, without accumulating in the kidneys or liver.

Troxevasin tablets are packaged in plastic blisters and placed in cardboard boxes supplied with detailed instructions.

The gel is packaged in metal tubes with tightly screwed caps.

Unopened packages should be stored in a cool, dark place for no longer than 2 years from the release date indicated on the package. After this period, the medicine cannot be used.

The price of the drug ranges from 197 to 650 rubles. depending on the place of sale, shape and packaging.

Description of the drug

Troxevasin is a pharmaceutical product based on troxerutin. It is produced by the company Balkanfarma. The main purpose of the drug is the treatment of diseases of the vascular system. We are talking about a venotonic and angioprotector. Some patients use the drug as a treatment, despite the lack of relevant clinical studies.

In case of inflammation of hemorrhoids, it quickly relieves the patient of unpleasant symptoms (pain, itching, bleeding) that occur against the background of venous insufficiency. The components of the drug have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and decongestant properties.

Clinical and pharmacological group

Troxerusin (regardless of its form) is one of the representatives of the pharmacological group of angioprotectors. The presence of rutin in the semi-synthetic substitute allows the medication in question to be classified as a microcirculation corrector or phlebotonic. Bioflavonoids compounds have the following properties:

  • eliminate hemorrhages;
  • tone blood vessels;
  • increase the elasticity of internal smooth muscles;
  • saturate tissues with oxygen and beneficial microelements;
  • activate the intensity of venous blood flow.

To increase the effectiveness of the drug, ascorbic acid is used, which is a catalyst for a number of biochemical processes.

pharmachologic effect

The therapeutic and medicinal properties of troxevasin are due to the activity and properties of the key active ingredient - troxerutin. It is characterized by the following pharmacological action:

  1. Suppresses platelet activity in damaged vessels, which prevents their subsequent “gluing” and the formation of blood clots.
  2. Increases the intensity of microcirculation at the capillary level. Restores natural blood flow in problem veins.
  3. Increases the susceptibility of red blood cells due to which foci of inflammation are stopped and then suppressed.
  4. Protects the membrane structures of blood vessels from oxidative processes, thereby preventing their destruction (due to inhibition of lipid peroxidation, hydroxyl radicals).
  5. Relieves painful symptoms characteristic of venous insufficiency.

Regular use of Troxevasin gel for hemorrhoids helps reduce blood viscosity, which automatically eliminates the danger of thrombosis in inflamed areas. The drug normalizes blood flow in the pelvis and prevents the development of stagnant processes. The size of hemorrhoidal cones decreases, and after a short time they resolve.

Release form and composition

The medication is available in the form of capsules (some patients believe that these are rectal suppositories) and gel. The concentration of the active substance in the gel does not exceed 2%, which is much less than in capsules (about 300 mg). The form of the drug determines the features of its use. The gel is used only for external treatment, and the capsules are intended for oral administration.

Troxevasin is available in the form of gel and tablets

Composition of venotonic (per 1 g of product):

  • troxerutin – 20 mg (for ointment) and 300 mg (for tablets);
  • EDTA disodium – 4-8 mg;
  • trolamine – 7 mg;
  • benzalkonium chloride – up to 1 mg;
  • triethanolamine – 4 mg;
  • purified water – 970-990 mg;
  • lactose monohydrate (for tablets);
  • quinoline;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • carbomer – 6 mg.

The medication is sold in plastic and aluminum tubes (40 g). The capsule form is produced in plastic blisters, 10 capsules each, 5 blisters in 1 package

For a pronounced positive effect from therapy, it is important to combine these forms of drugs.
