Aurobin ointment - instructions for use for hemorrhoids, analogues

Composition of the drug

Hemorrhoid ointment Aurobin is a multicomponent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, healing drug that is recommended for use for the treatment of external hemorrhoids at all stages of development.

Internal varicose cavities are treated only as prescribed by a doctor, taking into account the condition of the rectal mucosa, size, and location of the lumps. Prescription medicine, produced in Hungary. Packaging: twenty gram tube.

According to the instructions, Aurobin for hemorrhoids is prescribed to men, women, and extremely rarely to children for appropriate indications, if the benefit many times outweighs the harm. Caution in using the drug, its effectiveness is determined by the composition and number of components.

The active principle of Aurobin ointment is presented:

  • triclosan - an antimicrobial, antimycotic component that prevents secondary infection of inflamed, injured nodes;
  • prednisolone – a hormonal supplement that determines the anti-inflammatory properties of the drug, the ability to suppress alteration, exudation and proliferation during inflammation, and relieve swelling of the anorectal area;
  • lidocaine - a local anesthetic that blocks pain, itching, discomfort in the area of inflammation, during bowel movements;
  • dexpanthenol – an excellent regenerant that stimulates the healing of microtraumas of the rectal mucosa, anal ring, and perianal area;
  • white petroleum jelly - a laxative component of the medicine that facilitates bowel movements;
  • paraffin oil – a detoxicant that has a weak ability to stimulate peristalsis (the “trick” of the substance is that it is removed from the body unchanged; the oil is not absorbed at all in the intestines).

There are quite a lot of auxiliary components in Aurobin ointment:

  • humectants – glycerol, water;
  • cetyl alcohol – narrows the pores, causing the ointment to actively act on the surface of the nodes;
  • polysorbate – softens connective tissue fibers, promoting deep penetration into the skin;
  • propylene glycol – has hygroscopic properties;
  • octadecanoic acid - makes the ointment more dense in consistency.

The combination of substances forms liniment that is practically odorless, of sufficient density, and white in color.

Properties of the ointment

The main advantage of Aurobin ointment for hemorrhoids is its multi-vector action aimed at various symptoms and complications of hemorrhoidal disease, disinfection and regeneration of the lesion. Aurobin for hemorrhoids is used as part of complex treatment:

  • The main striking force is prednisolone , which is a corticosteroid that prevents allergic reactions in the presence of such a large number of components in the drug. The hormone relieves inflammation of any severity, reduces vascular permeability, strengthens the walls of veins, and tones blood vessels.
  • Lidocaine is a local anesthetic known since the mid-twentieth century. In addition to analgesic properties, it has antiarrhythmic and hypotensive properties, which is an additional advantage when prescribing the drug to heart patients. The anesthetic acts at the local level, locally. Anesthetizes immediately, the effect lasts for an hour. Non-toxic at 1% -2% concentration. For hemorrhoidal disease, the substance is also good because it dilates blood vessels and relieves congestion in the pelvic area.
  • Triclosan is able to slow down or completely block the growth of a variety of microbes: fungi (mold), bacteria. The substance has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action and anti-inflammatory properties. Today, triclosan is used everywhere: toothpastes, soaps, forgetting about one significant drawback. The fact is that an antiseptic kills not only harmful, but also beneficial bacteria, leaving the human body without protection. Scientists have proven that the substance causes microbial mutations and the formation of new bacteria unknown to science. That is why the drug is not recommended for pregnant women and nursing mothers. Aurobin triclosan ointment contains a minimal amount: 1 mg per twenty-gram tube, but this is enough to limit its use.
  • Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid from the group of B vitamins, has the property of stimulating the epithelization of mucous membranes, participates in the synthesis of corticosteroids, and relieves inflammation.

special instructions

Using Aurobin ointment carries a small risk of side effects. But it's still possible.

You need to know how to prevent exacerbations and unpleasant situations.

  1. It is necessary to ensure that Aurobin does not get into the eyes and the skin around the eyes. If this happens, you need to thoroughly rinse the area with water.
  2. Before applying Aurobin, it is necessary to first clean the painful areas. First of all, this is done to reduce the risk of secondary infection. If this happens, the complex treatment needs to be changed.
  3. It is important to remember that long-term use of Aurobin can cause atrophy of areas of the skin.
  4. The use of Aurobin over large areas of skin should be done with caution.

Positive point: the medicine does not negatively affect the nervous system.

Aurobin ointment: application features

According to the instructions, the drug is used externally and rectally.
For adults, regardless of age, after complete bowel movement, preliminary hygienic treatment of the affected area, hands - ointment for the treatment of hemorrhoids is applied directly to the site of inflammation in a minimal amount, rubbed into the skin with light movements until completely absorbed. Frequency – up to 4 times/day, course – week. The repetition can begin no earlier than a ten-day break. Rectal administration is carried out in case of prolapse of nodes. After relief of symptoms, the dose of the drug is gradually reduced.

In a child, the use of Aurobin should not exceed 5 days; the surface area to be treated is minimized. An overdose provokes disruption of the adrenal glands.

Instructions for use

The ointment is applied externally and rectally 2-3 times a day. Before use, it is necessary to empty the rectum and clean the skin. Apply to affected areas of skin near the rectal area. When the nodes are located inside the rectum, it is recommended to apply about 2 cm in a thin layer inside up to 3 times a day.

When acute symptoms are relieved, use can be discontinued. The general course is from 5 to 7 days. Most often, the ointment is used for adults and elderly people. During pregnancy, it is prohibited in the first trimester, and subsequently the doctor will determine the risks. For children, the dosage is prescribed individually by a specialist.

The use of ointments in children should be strictly supervised by a doctor. Do not let the ointment get into your eyes. If the use of the ointment does not have an effect, the doctor will cancel it and prescribe another one. Usually, under good circumstances, relief from use occurs on the second day

Aurobin during pregnancy, breastfeeding

Despite the high effectiveness of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding, people try not to prescribe Aurobin. The first trimester is a categorical prohibition, from the second (after the formation of the placental barrier) - only if the obvious benefit many times exceeds all possible risks.

The manufacturer himself in the instructions emphasizes the lack of serious clinical studies on the effect of Aurobin components on the fetus and growing organism. In addition, the drug contains hormones and triclosan, which is a contraindication to its use, because:

  • hormones destroy the immune system and take over its functions;
  • triclosan imitates estrogen, which provokes pathological changes in hormonal levels, the antiseptic disrupts the functioning of the thyroid gland, when interacting with tap water, it binds with chlorine, forming dioxides that poison the body from the inside.

Reviews of Aurobin

Very often, reviews of Aurobin are related specifically to the treatment of anal fissures. Here this drug is often prescribed by specialists. And the patients themselves advise each other to try this particular ointment. The effectiveness of the product is most often described as follows:

— Aurobin relieves pain and itching well. You can say right away. The condition of the mucous membrane and skin improves. But complete healing of the crack so that you never think about it again - this does not happen.

People who have suffered from this pathology for a long time explain why it is so difficult to get rid of:

“And don’t expect everything to heal there like on other parts of the body.” After all, a lot of bacteria constantly get into the wound. It’s good if your inflammation has gone away, if it doesn’t hurt or itch.

- The edges of such wounds thicken and can no longer heal completely. But this is practically a recovery.

Most patients note that subjective well-being improves, almost from the first time using Aurobin ointment:

“I felt so much better that my mood even improved.”

But many people have to use the drug almost constantly:

— If itching appears, I apply Aurobin. I'm flying for a few days. Then I live peacefully for two or three weeks. Then everything repeats itself again.

There are also situations when Aurobin did not alleviate the condition at all:

“I don’t understand why everyone is praising this ointment so much!” For me, it reduces the itching for about 15 minutes - then I don’t feel any effect at all.

Of course, for the fastest and maximum treatment of diseases of the anorectal area, it is important to consult a competent specialist. Trying different drugs on your own, testing either Aurobin or Relief on yourself is not effective. Moreover, despite the external similarity of different pathologies, their causes are different. This means that treatment requires substances with different effects.
