Pressure 120 over 90: what does it mean, diagnosis and treatment

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

The normal blood pressure is 120 to 80 mm Hg. Art. But often this parameter changes - increases or decreases. What does blood pressure mean? 120 over 90? This value can lead to confusion, since one indicator is normal, and the second is slightly too high. To determine the reasons for the changes, you need to perform an examination. Blood pressure 120/90, symptoms, treatment are described in the article.

Basic Concepts

There is lower (diastolic) pressure and upper (systolic). Each one is important. The upper one indicates the power with which the heart ventricles displace blood from themselves. And the lower one is an indicator of the condition of the main arteries - the flexibility of the walls and their lumen, the presence of cholesterol platelets.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

A change in lower pressure is considered a symptom of a deteriorating cardiovascular system. You can measure the indicators with a tonometer. In case of any deviations, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

If you feel dizzy

Photo 6
With blood pressure 120/90 mm Hg. Some people complain of dizziness when suddenly getting out of bed or turning their head.

This symptom is usually characteristic of hypotensive patients.

The reason for poor health lies in impaired blood circulation and rapid heartbeat.

In addition to dizziness, nausea and vomiting, and darkening of the eyes may occur.

Normal or not?

Many people wonder if blood pressure is 120 over 90? Usually this parameter is normal, since only the lower value increases. If a person does not have symptoms of hypertension, there is no need to worry. For people 40 years old, this lower blood pressure parameter is normal. This is due to the fact that pressure increases with aging. Therefore, it is difficult to keep it normal.

In men, an increased rate is observed more often than in women. This is due to the large volume of the heart and blood vessels. In children, blood pressure is 120 over 90, what does it mean? For them this is an increased indicator. Up to 15-20 years, the norm is 100-115 mm Hg. Art. for the upper value and 70-80 for the lower one. Therefore, a pressure of 120/90 is a sign of hypertension. In this case, the child should be taken to a cardiologist, as this may mean the development of dangerous ailments.

The cause of pressure drops in adolescents is the active development of the body, increased load on the heart and blood vessels, and hormonal changes. Therefore, indicators often rise to critical values. If this phenomenon is constant and is accompanied by other symptoms of heart disease, you should consult a doctor.

In people with hypotension, parameters increase when taking medications. This may mean exceeding the required dosage. As a result, drugs for arterial hypotension provide a greater effect than required. In this case, you need to visit a specialist who will adjust the dosage of the medications taken.

If at a pressure of 120/90 an increased pulse of up to 100 beats is observed, this is not always a symptom of the development of dangerous pathologies. Such indicators are not always interrelated. You need to worry if you have shortness of breath, poor health, or skin hyperemia.

Is it normal for the pressure to be 120 over 90?

The norm is purely individual and can vary in different directions. Readings of 120 to 80 are considered classic, but 120/90, and with hereditary hypotension 100/80, is also not a reason for panic if the pulse is normal. It is necessary to monitor not only blood pressure, but also pulse.

certain symptoms appear , you should think about it. Blood pressure must be constantly monitored.

With age, the elasticity of blood vessels changes, the work of the heart muscle becomes more difficult, which leads to jumps in diastolic pressure readings both down and up: 88, 93, 87, 94, 86, 95, 98, 100. The physiological characteristics of the body also affect the upper threshold. Indicators can have a wave-like character - 122, 126, 123, 119, 121, 118, 124, 116. Why are the upper and lower values not always the same? Is 125 by 90 normal? What to do in case of pressure surges?

A slight increase in systolic pressure (121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126) is the norm for almost all age categories.

What affects the elasticity of blood vessels?

It is important to decide whether you have high blood pressure, indicating hypertension, or low blood pressure (hypotension). In hypotensive patients, diastolic pressure is 70 and even 60 mm. rt. Art. is normal , and even a slight increase in it results in a headache and increased heart rate.

Arterial hypertension (high blood pressure) mainly develops in adulthood and is associated with significant changes in the elasticity of blood vessels. For such people, the norm is 130-140/90-100 mm. rt. Art.

What to drink if you have high blood pressure? Reduce high blood pressure by taking medications for hypertension, diuretics, decoctions, infusions, herbal alcohol tinctures.

Everything is individual and entirely dependent on physiology. What to do? Reduce blood pressure to normal. Even if the readings rise slightly to 5 units, you should consult a doctor to avoid undesirable consequences.

What is the danger?

The consequences of a pressure of 120/90 can be determined after establishing the probable cause of the increase in diastolic pressure. Usually this indicator is not dangerous to life and health, but can be a symptom of the onset of pathology.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

The condition of renal pathologies cannot be ignored, as there is a risk of organ failure. If cholesterol plaques appear on the walls of blood vessels, their lumen narrows. This leads to poor circulation.

An increase in lower blood pressure causes severe stress on the heart. As a result, the organ will not work correctly and its rhythm will be disrupted. There is also a risk of problems with blood vessels. These factors significantly increase the risk of stroke or heart attack. The danger of blood pressure 120/90 is its asymptomatic occurrence. A person does not visit a doctor for a long time, which causes the disease to progress.

Possible dangers

It is important to know!

Vessels become dirty very quickly, especially in older people. To do this, you don’t need to eat burgers or fries all day long. It is enough to eat one sausage or scrambled egg for some amount of cholesterol to be deposited in the blood vessels. Over time, pollution accumulates... Read more »

What normal pressure is known to many people, if the tonometer regularly shows other values, then it is important to consult a doctor for help. For this, a complete diagnosis is carried out. Minor deviations are sometimes genetic or hereditary, although they can become acquired as a result of a certain age.

You need to understand that even 120 to 90 can become dangerous and the condition can be classified according to the following criteria:

  1. For young and older people, 120 to 90 may indicate the norm, which does not require therapy.
  2. For people 12-14 years old, an increase in diastolic pressure to 90 indicates puberty with changes in hormonal levels.
  3. If there are malfunctions in children under 4 years of age, there are problems with internal organs, serious illnesses and secondary infections.

Before using medications, you will need to clearly understand whether the pressure of 120 over 90 is normal or caused by pathologies. For example, for people involved in sports, this value is normal; after rest, everything stabilizes. Women also need not be afraid during menopause, when the functioning of the thyroid gland changes.

In some cases, indicators indicate heart or vascular diseases that occur in a chronic form; there may be kidney problems and secondary infections.

Causes

Typically, parameters of 120/90 are considered normal, since abnormal causes cannot be identified. With hypotension, these values indicate an increased load on the vascular walls. Reasons for blood pressure 120/90 are related to:

  • excessive caffeine consumption;
  • use of medications;
  • alcohol intoxication;
  • weather dependence.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

When drinking large quantities of alcoholic beverages, a person’s condition changes. First, the blood pressure rises and the pulse quickens. After a few hours these values decrease. With hypotension, alcohol temporarily increases blood pressure.

With a high amount of caffeine, the indicator also increases. This condition may be temporary and last no more than a few hours. Is blood pressure 120/90 normal or not if a person does not drink alcohol or caffeine? The diastolic value increases with certain medications. Typically, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have this effect.

Hypotensive patients often experience weather dependence. With this violation, the state changes due to surges in atmospheric pressure. As a result, blood pressure also increases. If hypertensive patients have a blood pressure of 120/90 and a headache, this indicates a decrease in the value. Therefore, the indicator may occur when taking antihypertensive drugs or diuretics. This parameter is often observed with influenza and viral infections.

Causes of increased lower pressure

Also, high levels can occur after drinking alcohol. When a person takes alcohol, there is a constant change in heart rate - first a sharp increase in contractions, and then, on the contrary, a slowdown. If a person drinks regularly, the lower pressure reading becomes higher.

A temporary increase is caused by drinks and products containing caffeine. Usually both indicators increase, but maybe only the lower one. The condition does not last long, so there is no need to take medications to lower it.

Some medications can increase blood pressure. If the medication has such a side effect, it will be indicated in the instructions. This category includes non-steroidal drugs that have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

If a person has hypertension, then a pressure of 120 over 90 will be low for him. Mainly older people become hypertensive as a result of changes in the functioning of the heart and blood vessels. At this age, hypertension is characteristic, in which the normal pressure reaches 130/90-140/100 mm Hg. Art. A person can accidentally lower their levels by taking medications with this side effect, as well as various drugs, drinks or food with a diuretic effect.

There are various diseases that can also be the cause:

  • Flu and ARVI.
  • Improper functioning of the kidneys.
  • Problems with the endocrine system.
  • Disorders of the pituitary gland.

During pregnancy, changes in the functioning of the circulatory system occur in a woman’s body, fluid levels increase, and the load on the body increases.

In men, an increase in indicators may indicate the presence of diabetes mellitus or problems with blood vessels. This is also affected by changes in hormonal levels with age.

Only a doctor can give complete information and an accurate diagnosis when a complete examination of the body is carried out. But you also need to know the main symptoms that may require urgent help.

In an advanced state of the disease, a person may experience: deterioration of coordination, vision problems, poor memory and inhibited thinking, weakness in the limbs. Regular increases in blood pressure can even trigger a stroke! Therefore, it is important to consult a doctor at the onset of the disease for timely treatment.

Factors affecting blood pressure

During pregnancy

A blood pressure of 120 over 90 is normal for women during pregnancy. An increase in diastolic indicator is associated with changes in blood flow, an increase in the load on the kidneys and other organs. In women with a tendency to hypotension, a lower parameter within 90 units is normal if antihypertensive therapy is performed.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

Due to the influence of hormones, the pressure may be 125 over 90. If the diastolic reading is more than 90, then you need to undergo an examination. It is necessary to consult a nephrologist and cardiologist.

Blood pressure 120 over 90 during pregnancy

A pregnant woman experiences additional stress due to increased blood circulation and increased volume of biological fluid.

High lower blood pressure readings during pregnancy are not always a pathology . You need to find out the root cause of the problem and use alternative medicine methods as much as possible, but only after consulting with your doctor .

Usually after the birth of a child, the pressure returns to normal.

Diagnostics

If the pressure is 120 over 90, what should I do? First you need to undergo a full examination, which will determine the presence or absence of anomalies. The patient undergoes an ultrasound examination of the kidneys. It is also necessary to check the functioning of blood vessels, heart, and thyroid gland. They also take general urine and blood tests, and also perform a biochemical study.

To establish the causes of pressure fluctuations, a conventional tonometer is not enough. In this case, the doctor prescribes daily monitoring of indicators and a Holter ECG. If the lower value is at the upper limit of normal, antihypertensive drugs are not prescribed. If the diastolic value increases due to damage to the thyroid gland, diabetes or other abnormalities, then these drugs will not have an effect. Treatment of the underlying disease is required.

Does anything need to be done?

Having considered all possible variations on the theme of blood pressure 120 over 90, we can conclude that in the vast majority of cases such indicators do not pose any danger to humans. A slight upward deviation in diastolic pressure (albeit towards a borderline value) is not critical and, as a rule, does not cause discomfort.

If discomfort is still present, how should you feel about the pressure of 120 to 90, what to do with the “lower” value - lower it or increase it to the usual levels? Cardiologists advise not to rush and make do with symptomatic therapy.

  1. If you have a headache, then you can take any painkiller, for example, an analgesic or an analgesic + antispasmodic. Antispasmodics slightly dilate blood vessels, so a slight decrease in diastolic pressure can be expected.
  2. If you feel dizzy, then you need to lie down and rest, providing fresh air. Perhaps it was the disturbance of cerebral circulation that caused the disorder of the vestibular apparatus.
  3. If a hypertensive patient experiences pain in the chest, and the pressure continues to drop rapidly, then you should call a doctor without hesitation.

And if a hypotensive person’s blood pressure is already 120 over 95, what does this mean, what to do at home in this case? The main thing is not to panic; increasing diastolic pressure may indicate overwork or stress; try to calm down, take a comfortable position, and relax.

Manifestations of isolated hypertension are often accompanied by rapid heartbeat, so you can drink something sedative - valocordin, valerian (preferably in tablets) and try to rest. A short rest, as a rule, quickly returns blood pressure to normal.

Treatment

It must be taken into account that pressure disturbances can be isolated or systemic. If you have diseases of the cardiovascular system, you should consult a cardiologist. As the indicators increase, the doctor prescribes a combination treatment for hypertensive patients, which involves taking diuretics and antihypertensive drugs. Among the diuretics prescribed are Furosemide and Veroshpiron.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

Antihypertensive drugs are:

  • calcium antagonists;
  • ACE inhibitors;
  • sartans;
  • beta-blockers;
  • combined means.

The doctor must decide which medications to use. Self-medication can lead to dire consequences.

Therapy

People with a blood pressure of 120 over 90 usually do not require serious treatment. Most often, the indicators normalize on their own after proper rest and elimination of the negative impact. Even if surges in blood pressure are rare and are not accompanied by unpleasant symptoms, special attention should be paid to the health of the cardiovascular system - this will help prevent serious disruptions to the body’s functioning in the future.

Preventive measures

Prevention of cardiac dysfunction consists in following the following rules:

  • healthy lifestyle
  • reducing the number of stressful situations;
  • engaging in light physical activity;
  • rejection of bad habits.

A balanced diet plays an important role - fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seafood and fish should be included in the diet. It is better to avoid processed foods, fast food, canned foods, caffeine and alcohol. In addition, patients need a daily routine, proper rest and sleep at least 6-8 hours a day.

Pharmacological drugs

It is not recommended to use antihypertensive medications intended to lower blood pressure at levels of 120 to 90. You can normalize the numbers with the help of sedatives, preferably on a natural basis. Additionally, immunomodulatory and restorative agents, vitamin and mineral complexes, and special nutritional supplements are prescribed. If you need to quickly reduce blood pressure that has increased due to psycho-emotional stress, you can take Corvalol, Valocordin, Validol or another sedative.

Medicines to normalize blood pressure

Folk remedies

In folk medicine, to normalize blood pressure, products containing medicinal herbs that have a sedative and diuretic effect are used - chamomile, strawberry leaves, St. John's wort, birch buds, lemon balm, mint. You can consume a mixture of garlic, lemon and honey, vegetable juices (beetroot, potato, carrot), green tea, and dill seeds.

A pressure of 120 over 90 may be a physiological norm or a sign of a malfunction of the body, but in any case, this phenomenon requires increased attention. A correct lifestyle and adherence to preventive measures will help maintain the health of the cardiovascular system and avoid serious complications.

Folk remedies

In addition to medications, home methods are also used. The best of them are the following:

  1. Cranberry juice and May honey are mixed in equal quantities. You need to take the product 1 tsp. 3 times a day. Treatment lasts 2 weeks.
  2. It will take 1 tsp. hawthorn berries, which is poured with boiling water (1 cup) and boiled for ¼ hour. After half an hour, you can strain and add water to obtain 200 ml of product. Consume three times a day before meals. A single dosage is 1 tbsp. l. The recipe is especially suitable for high blood pressure with arrhythmia.
  3. Chopped rosemary (1 tbsp) is poured with boiling water (250 ml). The product is boiled for 15 minutes. After 45 minutes it is filtered. Drink the composition in small portions throughout the day.
  4. Instead of tea, you need to brew chokeberry (berries). Fresh juice is also beneficial. These drinks reduce diastolic pressure, relieve vascular spasms and increase their elasticity. To achieve the desired effect, the medicine is taken 50 ml 4 times a day.
  5. Vinegar is mixed with water in equal quantities. Soak a towel in the solution and apply it to the heels for 15 minutes. You need to measure your blood pressure every 3 minutes. If the diastolic pressure is 70-80 mmHg. Art., remove the compress.

It must be taken into account that when the indicator is reduced by different drugs, there is a risk of a decrease in the systolic value, which is within the normal range. Therefore, treatment with any means should only be done after consulting a doctor.

How to measure blood pressure correctly

If there is only a few mm Hg between normal and pathological. Art., it is extremely important to take accurate measurements. Also, for the objectivity of the picture, it is important to take into account the heart rate.

Tonometer

Blood pressure 120/90 is almost normal. The deviation of the lower limit from the extreme value of the range is only 1 mm Hg. Art., so it is extremely important to obtain accurate blood pressure values. Such a tiny value may be an error in the tonometer.

Electronic and electromechanical tonometers are easy to use. But their accuracy is low. Moreover, the manufacturers themselves warn that the deviation of the value displayed on the screen from the true readings can be 3-5 mm Hg. Art.

A conventional mechanical tonometer has the highest measurement accuracy. When measuring blood pressure at home, people usually add or subtract a few mmHg. Art. to round the value. Therefore, indicators at the level of 120/90 must be measured in the clinic. In a situation with pressure 120 to 90, a difference of 1-2 units can be decisive. If a person has 120/87 or 120/88, then their blood pressure is normal. And the lower indicator, equal to 90 or 9, is already a deviation.

Pulse

When measuring blood pressure, you need to pay attention to your pulse and pulse pressure. These parameters allow you to estimate how much stress the heart experiences at the recorded blood pressure values.

Normal parameters:

  1. Pulse. The ideal value is from 60 to 90 beats per minute. If the pulse does not exceed 80-90 beats, then the situation is under control.
  2. Pulse pressure (PP). The indicator is determined by subtracting diastolic blood pressure from systolic blood pressure. The norm is considered to be 40 mmHg. Art. In the case of 120/90, the PP is equal to 30. This value can be called normal, since a PD deviation of 10 mmHg is allowed. Art.

On a note! Normal pulse pressure is 30-50 mmHg. Art. indicates that the heart is not under excessive stress and is not wearing out at an increased rate.

What to do if you have a headache?

Many people strongly feel changes in pressure; for them, a slight deviation can lead to a worsening of their condition. The increased value should be reduced when:

  • dizziness;
  • pain in the back of the head;
  • high pulse (90-10 units);
  • the occurrence of a tight feeling in the chest.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

If this condition often occurs in a person, this may mean the development of pathology - an unwanted illness. Isolated hypertension occurs at a pressure of 120 over 90, at 115 over 90. If the lower reading is low, it is called renal, since it does not affect the work of the heart. Diastolic pressure indicates kidney function and vascular tone. If the lower numbers are elevated, this indicates a malfunction of the organs or the appearance of a hormonal imbalance.

Possible symptoms

A certain category of people with a pressure of 120/90 feels well , their body does not show any symptoms of hypertension.

When deviations occur, the following symptoms are observed:

  • Increased heart rate due to increased heart rate.
  • The headaches are mostly constant and also worsen when bending forward .
  • Dizziness (sometimes nausea).
  • Drowsiness and constant apathy.
  • Noisy in the ears.
  • Blurred vision.
  • Black dots before the eyes.
  • Nose bleed.
  • Excessive sweating.
  • Chronic fatigue.

What does this list say? Even one of these signs should cause concern for your health. If there are two or more of them, arterial hypertension (high blood pressure) can be diagnosed. But most people attribute these manifestations of the disease to a general malaise, do not seek qualified medical help and do not control their own blood pressure.

Regarding whether a person is hypotensive or hypertensive, various symptoms appear:

Hypotonic, when low blood pressure is normalHypertensive
General malaiseLethargy in the body
HeadacheFeeling tired
CardiopalmusDrowsiness
Increased excitability of the nervous system

also be attentive to changes in pulse and what symptoms are characteristic of certain indicators:

Increase to 90 beats/min. (means the development of tachycardia) Less than 60 beats/min. (means the development of bradycardia)
Facial rednessPale skin
Excessive irritability and aggressionFatigue
Hand tremorsDrowsiness
Throbbing feeling in veins and ears

In the case of bradycardia, should be paid to disruptions in the functioning of the nervous system, not the heart. At a pressure of 120 over 90, it can be observed in young people with neurological disorders.

How to improve the condition?

Often, a single increase in the indicator occurs during emotional experiences, mental or physical stress. Blood pressure increases after salty foods or alcoholic drinks that have been drunk in large quantities. This can be corrected with folk remedies and simple tips:

  1. You need to lie down and take deep breaths. With physical activity the indicators increase.
  2. A decoction made from rosehip or fruit juice is effective. These drinks have a diuretic effect and lower blood pressure. In this case, pomegranate and its juice are effective.
  3. An excellent option is a tincture of medicinal herbs, which has a sedative effect. Such herbs include valerian, motherwort, and calendula. Chamomile also has these properties. To make the tincture, you will need 2 tsp. herbs, which are poured with boiling water (0.5 liters). The decoction should sit for 15-20 minutes. You should take ½ glass 2-3 times a day.
  4. Baked garlic also reduces blood pressure. To do this, the slices are cleaned and placed in an oven heated to a high temperature. Keep for a few minutes and eat as a condiment or with bread.

The pressure cannot drop quickly; it drops slowly throughout the day. If after these measures you still have heart pain, you should consult a doctor. In other cases, a figure of 120 to 90 is the norm.

High blood pressure may cause dizziness. And this usually happens when you suddenly get out of bed or turn your head. This symptom often appears in hypotensive patients. The cause is poor circulation and rapid heartbeat. In addition to dizziness, there may be nausea, vomiting, and darkening of the eyes.

If blood pressure has risen sharply or health has worsened, the person needs to rest. It is advisable to lie down or sleep. In most cases, rest allows the indicators to normalize. You can also drink soothing tea and take up a hobby.

Symptoms

Symptoms at 120/90 occur only when such an indicator is uncharacteristic for a person. If a person lives with low blood pressure, then at these levels he will feel unwell.

Symptoms when blood pressure rises to 120/90 in hypotensive patients:

  • cardiopalmus;
  • stimulation of the nervous system.

Hypertensive patients have different symptoms. On the contrary, they experience a decrease in blood pressure to 120/90 when taking antihypertensive drugs.

Symptoms when blood pressure drops in hypertensive patients to 120/90:

  • a wave of fatigue rolls in;
  • a person is drawn to sleep;
  • the body becomes sluggish and disobedient.

Pulse when blood pressure changes:

  1. If the pulse becomes less than 60 beats per minute, a person begins to experience bradycardia. There is a malfunction in the central nervous system. The condition is accompanied by pale skin, weakness, and drowsiness.
  2. If the pulse increases to 90 beats per minute, tachycardia begins to develop. Symptoms of this condition are irritation, aggression, trembling hands, redness of the skin. Additional symptoms may also occur - palpable pulsation and noise in the ears, and fog appears in the eyes.

In normal health, a blood pressure reading of 120/90 does not cause any symptoms. If a person has one or another pathology, characteristic symptoms will be observed. In addition to the above symptoms, a person may also experience perspiration, chest pain, dizziness and stuffy ears.

Prevention

To prevent increased pressure, you must follow simple rules:

  • Reduce the amount of salt, as this avoids stagnation of liquid.
  • Eliminate fatty and fried foods.
  • Reduce body weight if weight is not normal.
  • Exercising regularly will normalize blood flow.
  • Avoid smoking.
  • Avoid stress, normalize your work and rest schedule.
  • Treat hormonal disorders in a timely manner.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages.
  • Use light diuretics - they are needed if you are prone to edema.

Blood pressure 120 over 90: reasons, what to do?

If your pulse is high

Heart rhythm disturbances with a pressure of 120 to 90 can manifest themselves as either increased or slowed pulse. With tachycardia (heart rate above 90 beats per minute), tremor of the fingers, redness of the facial skin, spots and fog before the eyes are observed. Increased heart rate is characteristic of hypertension, which is associated with physical and emotional stress, and usually goes away after rest. In the case of bradycardia, when the pulse slows down to 60 beats, a person feels weakness, drowsiness and decreased performance, but this phenomenon is quite rare.

What to do?

Photo 8
With a stable increase in blood pressure to 120 to 90, a person needs to undergo a full diagnosis to identify or exclude a pathological process in the body.

The patient undergoes an ultrasound of the kidneys, heart, thyroid gland, and blood vessels . It is recommended to submit urine and blood for general and biochemical examination.

For a more detailed analysis, the doctor prescribes blood pressure monitoring and Holter ECG. Lower blood pressure at the upper limit of normal does not require the use of antihypertensive drugs. If the reason for the increase in diastole is diabetes mellitus, thyroid pathology or another disease, medications will be useless.

The doctor's main task is to eliminate the underlying disease. Pathology can be isolated or systemic. In case of cardiac and vascular disorders, you should contact a cardiologist.

Diuretic Indapamide

If blood pressure rises, the doctor prescribes complex treatment for hypertensive patients, which includes:

  • diuretics;
  • antihypertensive drugs.

Of the diuretics, Furosemide, Indapamide, Torsid, Torasemide, Veroshpiron are often used.

Photo 10
Antihypertensive drugs are divided into groups:

  • beta blockers;
  • calcium antagonists;
  • ACE inhibitors;
  • combination drugs that combine hypotensive and diuretic effects.

It is easy to normalize the diastolic parameter using alternative medicine methods.

Effective folk recipes are given below:

Photo 11

  • cranberry juice . Squeeze juice from cranberries and mix it with May honey in a ratio of 1 to 1. Take a teaspoon three times a day for two weeks;
  • onion juice . Prepared and used in a similar way to cranberry remedy;
  • rosemary infusion . Pour a tablespoon of crushed raw materials into a glass of boiling water and keep on low heat for a quarter of an hour. Then cool for 45 minutes and strain. Drink a glass throughout the day;
  • decoction of hawthorn fruits . Effective when the increase in diastole is combined with cardiac arrhythmia. A teaspoon of berries is poured into a glass of hot water and boiled for 15 minutes. Then leave for half an hour, filter and bring the volume to 200 ml. Take the medicine three times a day before meals, a tablespoon;
  • vinegar compress . Vinegar and water are diluted in a container. Soak a towel in the solution and apply it to the heels for a quarter of an hour. Blood pressure should be monitored with a tonometer every 3 minutes. If the diastolic parameter drops to 70-80 mm Hg. st, the procedure is completed;
  • juice from raw beets . You should drink it one tablespoon before meals;
  • decoction of chokeberry . Berries are brewed instead of tea. The drug reduces the diastolic value, relieves spasm of arterioles, and increases the elasticity of blood vessels. You can also use fresh juice. This medicine should be taken 50 ml four times a day;
  • viburnum infusion . It helps to slightly reduce the lower number of the tonometer. A handful of berries are crushed and poured with boiling water. After cooling, the drink is drunk like tea.

You can use tinctures of hawthorn, motherwort, and valerian. But they slow down the pulse, so if your heart rate is normal, you shouldn’t abuse them.

To prevent high blood pressure, doctors recommend:

  • eat less salty foods to avoid fluid retention;
  • reduce weight (if you are overweight, the heart is forced to pump a larger volume of plasma for the normal functioning of the body);
  • Perform regular moderate exercise to normalize blood circulation;
  • avoid stress;
  • establish sleep and wakefulness patterns;
  • give up fried and fatty foods;
  • stop smoking;
  • promptly treat hormonal imbalances;
  • use mild diuretics (if you are prone to swelling);
  • do not drink alcoholic beverages.

The doctor must decide how to treat high blood pressure. Uncontrolled use of self-prescribed drugs and traditional recipes usually leads to a deterioration in health.
