What are the active ingredients and action?
Each Cardiomagnyl tablet, coated with a special coating, contains 0.075 grams of acetylsalicylic acid, which is the main active ingredient. Another important component is magnesium compounds, which help reduce side effects from the drug. This drug is an antithrombolytic drug that reduces platelet aggregation and the risk of thrombosis. In addition, the main component acetylsalicylic acid has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. This is achieved by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins, the main mediators of inflammation, as well as reducing the synthesis of thromboxanes and cyclooxygenase. These drugs affect the acid-base balance of the body, stimulate breathing and reduce the protection of the gastric mucosa, which can provoke gastritis or ulcers of the organ.
Compatibility with other tools
When using Cardiomagnyl together with thrombolytics and antiplatelet agents, their ability to thin the blood increases, which can lead to gastric and other bleeding. Therefore, these drugs must be taken together very carefully. The drug can provoke gout, therefore, if you are predisposed to this disease, acetylsalicylic acid preparations are contraindicated. Do not use Cardiomagnyl together with Methotrexate, since these drugs significantly impair the production of blood cells.
The drug Ibuprofen has the opposite effect on blood quality.
In patients with diabetes mellitus, the pharmaceutical drug lowers the level of glucose in the blood, therefore, if insulin is used, its dose is reduced. If diabetics are not careful when using acetylsalicylic acid, they may develop a hypoglycemic coma. The antagonist of Cardiomagnyl is Ibuprofen, which promotes the formation of a blood clot, so combining these drugs is not advisable.

Treatment of cerebral vasoconstriction
Have you been struggling with HYPERTENSION for many years without success?
Head of the Institute: “You will be amazed at how easy it is to cure hypertension by taking it every day...
Treatment often consists of long-term, and most often lifelong, use of medications, selected in each case, for each patient individually.
As a rule, the following drugs are prescribed:
- Lovostatin - mevacos, mefacor;
- Fibrates used: clofibrate; atromidine, atromide; simvastatin: zocor;
- Cerebrolysin, anion exchange resins, lecithin, and iodine therapy are also used;
- They also prescribe vitamins such as A, E, C, general vitamin complexes, microelements, selenium;
- Drugs that dilate blood vessels are used: aminophylline, papaverine.
Treatment is prescribed by the attending physician individually for each person and is based on the results of the examination, the patient’s condition, and his lifestyle and age.
Vasodilation
Nowadays there are more and more patients who have narrowed cerebral vessels. The reason is contributed by rare stay in the fresh air, heavy loads associated with intellectual work, overwork, and stress. As a result, people often have headaches, heaviness and discomfort. To avoid suffering, you need to dilate the blood vessels.
Often, poor circulation and narrowing of blood vessels in the brain can lead to the appearance of atherosclerosis and osteochondrosis. People often feel weak and dizzy.
How to dilate blood vessels?
First of all, you need to perform gymnastics, which is aimed at dilating blood vessels and strengthening them. Exercises that require tilting the head downwards increase blood pressure in the brain, for example: standing on the shoulder blades, head, elbows, as well as lifting both legs to a right angle when lying down. You can also use side bends, back and forth, and body turns.
People who have narrowed blood vessels in the brain need to breathe properly, because when breathing is impaired, oxygen does not reach the brain well. Yoga and dancing have a beneficial effect on blood vessels.
Also, to dilate the blood vessels in the brain, you need to keep a low-calorie diet, and try not to consume animal fats, confectionery products and alcohol, and reduce the amount of salt. In order for the blood vessels to normalize faster, it is worth consuming vitamin complexes, which include vitamin B6, PP ascorbic acid and drugs that dilate blood vessels in the brain.
You need to walk in the fresh air more often, combining walking with physical exercise. Sick people who are overweight should normalize their weight.
Contraindications to the use of Cardiomagnyl for blood pressure
The main contraindications to the use of Cardiomagnyl include:
intolerance to individual components (acetylsalicylic acid);
- asthma;
- liver, kidney and heart diseases;
- recent surgery on the liver, kidneys or heart;
- peptic ulcers.
It is prohibited to take Cardiomagnyl with most medications, as well as alcohol and after certain types of vaccinations. Cardiomagnyl is not insignificant for low blood pressure. It is strictly forbidden to use by children under 18 years of age. This can cause many side effects and cause allergies.
The drug "Cardiomagnyl" can cause side effects in various systems of the human body:
- digestive: nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, ulcers;
- circulatory system: bleeding from existing wounds, anemia may be observed;
- respiratory: asthma;
- protective: rashes, allergic reactions on the skin, unnatural pallor, itching or inflammation.
In case of overdose, no specific symptoms are observed. Only during moderate poisoning do the following symptoms appear: tinnitus, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. The acid-base balance in the stomach may change.
In case of severe poisoning, the following may occur:
- coma;
- pulmonary edema;
- convulsions;
- severe decrease in blood pressure;
- heart rhythm disturbance.
In case of overdose, consult a doctor immediately. As first aid, you can use activated carbon.
If there is any doubt about the drug "Cardiomagnyl" - whether it increases or decreases blood pressure, then the pharmacological action of the drug reduces blood pressure. As with other medications, consult your doctor before taking. You should not risk your health and self-medicate.

Why does blood pressure decrease?
Cardiomagnyl is not an antihypertensive drug. A slight decrease in blood pressure can be observed due to the effect of magnesium on the walls of blood vessels, strengthening them and reducing tone.
The effect of Cardiomagnyl on hypertension is to prevent its occurrence:
- the drug prevents thickening of the walls and slows down the formation of a “hypertensive heart”;
- the drug improves blood circulation, reducing the likelihood of edema;
- Cardiomagnyl enhances muscle nutrition and oxygen saturation.
- pulse normalizes;
- the medicine removes cholesterol plaques.

Cardiomagnyl for hypertension affects the vascular epithelium and heart muscle, which increases the quality and duration of life.
Side effects of Cardiomagnyl
Acetylsalicylic acid has long been used for treatment. Its effects on the human body have been well studied. It was found that when taking Cardiomagnyl, it is possible to develop an allergic reaction with Quincke's edema, after which there is a danger of developing anaphylactic shock. In the stomach, heartburn and nausea are often observed after taking the drug; bleeding and perforation of an ulcer rarely occur. Sometimes bronchospasm may develop. Tinnitus and dizziness may occur.
Cardiomagnyl is incompatible with alcohol and should not be taken while drinking alcohol. The reason for the ban is the irritating effect of acetylsalicylic acid and ethanol on the walls of the stomach. The simultaneous use of Cardiomagnyl and alcohol can cause internal bleeding because platelets responsible for blood clotting are blocked. Gastric bleeding is a complication due to which the medical community banned giving the drug to children under 12 years of age during colds and viral infections, replacing it with less dangerous paracetamol. Alcohol and Cardiomagnyl are incompatible with each other, because when interacting they double their destructive effect on the body if taken simultaneously or after a short period of time. Not only the gastrointestinal tract, but also the circulatory system can be seriously damaged when mixed.
Pharmacokinetics
ASA is absorbed almost completely from the gastrointestinal tract. The half-life of ASA is about 15 minutes, because with the participation of ASA enzymes, it is quickly hydrolyzed into salicylic acid (SA) in the intestines, liver and blood plasma. The half-life of SA is about 3 hours, but it can increase significantly with the simultaneous administration of large doses of ASA (more than 3.0 g) as a result of saturation of enzyme systems.
The bioavailability of ASA is about 70%, but this value fluctuates significantly, since ASA undergoes presystemic hydrolysis (gastrointestinal mucosa, liver) into SA under the action of enzymes. The bioavailability of SA is 80-100%.
The doses of magnesium hydroxide used do not affect the bioavailability of acetylsalicylic acid.
How to take and dose Cardiomagnyl correctly
Before using the drug, be sure to consult your doctor. The instructions for use of Cardiomagnyl contain information at what pressure and in what dosage the medication should be taken.
Typically, 2 tablets are prescribed for treatment once a day - in the evening. You should not take the tablets with meals, as this will worsen their effect. For preventive purposes, it is recommended to take 1 tablet once a day. Do not exceed the dose of the drug. Swallow the tablet whole, if necessary, wash it down with water.
Blood pressure tablets "Cardiomagnyl", unlike other drugs, together with a decrease in blood pressure, do not reduce attentiveness, concentration and do not impair coordination of movements. "Cardiomagnyl" reduces blood pressure, but does not affect the nervous system in any way and is approved for people whose profession requires increased care (for example, drivers).
Indication and use
This medication can be used for the prevention of:
- thromboembolism of blood vessels after surgery;
- thrombosis of veins and arteries;
- myocardial infarction;
- acute heart failure.
Among other things, the drug is prescribed for:
- unstable angina;
- high blood pressure;
- the presence of risk factors for thrombosis (diabetes, excess weight, cigarette addiction, old age).
In order to prevent hypertension and other conditions, you should take 2 tablets of 75 mg at a time on the first day, and then drink 75 mg 1 time per day.
To prevent the occurrence of a recurrent heart attack, thrombosis or thromboembolism, as well as in case of unstable angina, you need to take 1 tablet once a day (the doctor will indicate which dosage to choose - 75 or 150 mg). For diseases of moderate and mild severity, you need to take 2 small tablets once a day. As a preventive measure, you need to take 1 small tablet every day.
Contraindications and adverse reactions
This drug has various contraindications that you need to be aware of before using it:
- cerebral hemorrhage;
- severe renal, liver or heart failure;
- hemophilia or other conditions with a risk of bleeding;
- stomach ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding;
- bronchial asthma;
- 1st or 3rd trimester of pregnancy, lactation;
- age under 18 years;
- individual intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid.
When taking acetylsalicylic acid, which is the main active ingredient of Cardiomagnyl, the following may be observed:
- heartburn, nausea, vomiting;
- pain and feeling of heaviness in the abdomen;
- headaches, dizziness;
- development of bleeding or prolongation of the period of stopping it;
- disorders of the kidneys;
- allergic reactions in the form of rashes, swelling and itching of the skin, difficulty breathing through the nose, etc.
Acetylsalicylic acid, which is part of Cardiomagnyl, is often prescribed during pregnancy to thin the blood, including for hypertension in the mother. The manufacturer says that pregnant women should not use Cardiomagnyl in the first and third trimester of pregnancy, since in the early stages all the baby’s organs are developing and any interference in this process can harm his health, and in the third trimester the baby may develop cerebral hemorrhages and increased bleeding in the mother when taking the drug 300 mg or more of acetylsalicylic acid per day immediately before birth. But such doses are usually not prescribed to pregnant women. If there is still a need to take the drug, then the maximum daily dose should not exceed 75 mg per day.
Interaction with alcoholic beverages
While taking Cardiomagnyl, it is not recommended to drink alcoholic cocktails or any alcoholic beverages, because this greatly increases the risk of developing side effects of the drug. In turn, alcohol can cause prolonged side effects and also cause internal bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract.
What are the contraindications and adverse reactions?
It is necessary to take Cardiomagnyl correctly and stop using it in the following cases:
- lactation;
- increased sensitivity of the patient to the components of the drug;
- hereditary or acquired tendency to bleeding;
- areas of hemorrhage in the brain;
- childhood;
- bleeding;
- history of gastritis;
- bronchial asthma.
Long-term therapy with this drug can cause bronchospasm.
Adverse reactions develop only if you take Cardiomagnyl for too long and they manifest themselves in the form of disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, bleeding and toxic effects on the liver. In addition, bronchospasm may occur in the lungs. Sometimes an allergic reaction in the form of urticaria or anaphylactic shock develops to the components of the drug. In rare cases, the functioning of the hematopoietic system is disrupted with a decrease in the production of all blood cells in the bone marrow, this is especially pronounced in relation to red blood cells. Patients may also experience headaches, insomnia and mini-strokes.
Indications for use
Despite the state of blood pressure, the use of Cardiomagnyl is necessary for patients who suffer from:
- experienced heart attack;
- health status preceding the heart attack;
- unstable angina;
- cerebrovascular diseases;
- blood clots
Cardiomagnyl is also prescribed to patients who are susceptible to myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. For preventive purposes, it is used against cardiac ischemia in patients who suffer from:
- excess weight;
- high blood pressure;
- diabetes mellitus;
- chronic high blood pressure;
- alcohol and nicotine addiction.
Only in cases of extreme necessity, Cardiomagnyl is prescribed to patients who have been diagnosed with malignant hypertension (pressure levels in the arteries exceed 180/120 mmHg). In the case of such pressure values, it is important to prevent bleeding and hemorrhage.
Is it possible not to take medications that make you feel sick?
Alex asks:
I am 38 years old. In December 2014, I had a massive heart attack, a month later stenting was performed (1 stent 2 cm, stenosis -95%). After stenting I felt much better... 2 months have passed since stenting. I constantly take Brilinta, Cardiomagnyl (75 mg) and the statin Rosucard (20 mg)... also upon discharge, beta blockers (Concor 2.5 mg) and ACE inhibitors (Prestarium 1/2 of 5 mg) were prescribed. So, these medications, among other things, lower blood pressure and pulse... when I started taking Concor (and then changed it to Betaloc-ZOK) in a minimal dose, I got a very low blood pressure for myself (sometimes it was less than 85/65), and I felt with great weakness and pressure in the chest. Having stopped taking beta blockers, I feel better, my blood pressure is normal at 115/80 and my pulse is between 80-90 (slightly elevated - but this has always been the case for me). And I didn’t even start drinking Prestarium - only Betalok-ZOK was enough to lower the pressure to a level that was uncomfortable for me.
Question: if without taking Betalok-ZOK and Prestarium I feel much better physically (then my blood pressure is normal), is it possible not to try to drink them? And what should you do if you seem to need to drink them, but your condition immediately becomes worse? Thank you!
Doctor's answer:
Of course, it would be better if you were able to take the full range of drugs - they have a good therapeutic effect on the blood vessels. But low pressure is also useless. Therefore, we will try to choose the best option. Considering that a pulse of 80-90 is undesirable for you - the load on the heart is greater than is needed for normal functioning, you need a drug that will keep the pulse no higher than 75 beats/min at rest (preferably less, about 65). This could be the beta blocker Nebivolol, or Ivabradine (I write the basic substances, you choose the company yourself, based on your financial capabilities, better, of course, the original ones). You can start with Nebivolol at a dose of 2.5 mg, monitor your pulse and blood pressure. If you cannot achieve the desired reduction in heart rate at normal blood pressure, switch to Ivabradine. This drug does not affect blood pressure, it only controls heart rate. But coordinate all changes in therapy with your doctor.

Why is Cardiomagnyl better than aspirin?
Cardimoagnil was invented relatively recently. In 1996, the Nycomed corporation released a drug called Magnyl. Later, in 2002, it received its traditional name. There was almost nothing revolutionary new in the composition of the medicine. Cardiomagnyl contains two components: acetylsalicylic acid - the familiar aspirin - and magnesium hydroxide.
Aspirin is the first non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which was invented in the 19th century. In 1971, pharmacologist John Wayne discovered that aspirin has a positive effect on blood vessels and prevents blood clots. In particular, it successfully prevents thrombosis of the coronary and cerebral arteries. For this discovery, pharmacologist Wein was awarded the Nobel Prize.
Acetylsalicylic acid has become known as an antiplatelet drug that prevents the formation of blood clots. The antiplatelet effect is due to the suppression of the synthesis of thromboxane and prostaglandins. The effects of acetylsalicylic acid continue for some time, even if you stop taking aspirin.
Back in the mid-20th century, it became clear that aspirin also has side effects. It provokes bleeding in diseases of the stomach and intestines. Unlike aspirin, Cardiomagnyl contains an antacid substance - magnesium hydroxide - which has an enveloping effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines and minimizes the risk of bleeding. The ratio of both components is optimally selected.
Despite the positive properties of Cardiomagnyl, it has a number of side effects that should not be neglected. Taking it even for preventive purposes requires consulting a doctor.
Cardiomagnyl reduces blood clotting and increases tissue bleeding
Therefore, it is not used for stomach ulcers, gastritis with erosions, gum diseases and nosebleeds. Patients who have had erosive and ulcerative diseases of the stomach and intestines in the past should take Cardiomagnyl with caution. Its use is prohibited for thrombocytopenia, von Willebrand disease, hemophilia. Use with caution for gout and hyperuricemia. Like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, Cardiomagnyl can cause or worsen an allergic reaction. It should not be taken for neurodermatitis, rhinitis and other manifestations of allergies. Its use should be limited to patients with bronchospasms
As a drug that contains aspirin, it can cause so-called aspirin asthma. Cardiomagnyl is not prescribed to patients with renal failure, kidney and liver diseases. The drug is not used during pregnancy and lactation. Cardiomagnyl is contraindicated for children under 18 years of age.
If arterial hypertension is very high and difficult to correct, then the use of Cardiomagnyl should be treated very carefully. In this case, nosebleeds may occur, which will be difficult to stop due to the action of the drug, which reduces blood clotting.
And if there is a risk of developing a hemorrhagic stroke, then such treatment can lead to massive intracranial hemorrhage and death.
In any case, treatment is prescribed only by a doctor and strictly according to indications. It is not recommended to use this medicine on your own due to serious side effects, the most dangerous of which are gastrointestinal bleeding.

Purpose of the drug
The drug is also classified as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, since it has the ability to reduce body temperature, the severity of the inflammatory process and relieve mild pain.
The composition of the drug Cardiomagnyl includes aspirin, which prevents platelet aggregation, and magnesium hydroxide, which has an enveloping effect. Accordingly, it is obvious that neither component is used at high pressure.
Compared to regular acetylsalicylic acid, Cardiomagnyl has a smaller spectrum of negative effects on the human body.
In the modern world, acetylsalicylic acid is widely used by doctors to prevent blood clots, as it prevents the actual adhesion of platelets. If this process is started, the platelets will stick together and thereby form a blood clot, which can completely close the lumen of the blood vessel, which will end in disaster.
In most cases, blockage of a vessel ends in myocardial infarction or ischemic stroke, therefore, in order to prevent possible complications, the cardiologist prescribes Cardiomagnyl to most elderly patients.
Very often this remedy can be found in the treatment regimen for hypertension, since in such patients, blood stagnation is simultaneously detected in certain areas of the circulatory system. Most often, this pathology is observed in patients with coronary heart disease, as they develop atherosclerotic plaques that disrupt the flow of blood through the vessels to the heart.
In addition, with hypertension, blood flow in the brain is impaired, which can cause the development of a stroke. It is possible that migraine attacks may form due to a sharp expansion of the vascular bed against the background of blood stagnation and, as a result, severe headaches. It is for this reason that it is worth taking Cardiomagnyl for prevention.
Is it possible to drink Cardiomagnyl with high blood pressure?
Diseases of the cardiovascular system are a serious problem for modern clinicians. The presence of varicose veins of the lower extremities significantly increases the risk of blood clot formation and obstruction of blood vessels in the brain, lungs or heart. Drugs that are used to prevent blood clots in patients at risk have long filled the pharmaceutical markets. Cardiomagnyl is one of the most effective and popular drugs, as confirmed by reviews from patients and doctors.
"Cardiomagnyl" is a combination drug whose action is aimed at thinning the blood and preventing platelet aggregation. Regular use significantly reduces the likelihood of ischemic strokes and thromboembolism. The therapeutic effect is associated with the properties of the main component - acetylsalicylic acid.
Cardiomagnyl is a unique drug that not only has an anti-inflammatory effect, reducing pain and fever, but also exhibits antiplatelet properties
Absorption occurs in the middle sections of the digestive system. One of the dangerous side effects of this drug is the high likelihood of developing ulcers on the wall of the stomach or intestines. For the purpose of prevention, the doctor advises taking the drug during meals with plenty of water.
In parallel, proton pump inhibitors (Omeprazole) are prescribed. The molecules of the active substance are capable of inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which leads to the release of inflammatory mediators, thromboxane and other substances from mast cells. As a result, there is a disappearance of the five manifestations of inflammation, such as swelling, pain, redness, dysfunction and fever.
In addition to the general effects, there is also an effect on the blood coagulation system. Acetylsalicylic acid can prevent the transition of arachidonic acid to thromboxane. This prevents the so-called sludge phenomenon, during which red blood cells stick together and form columns like “coins”.
The end result is prevention of blood clots. The composition also includes additional components such as magnesium hydroxide. It is this substance that helps prevent stomach ulcers. The difference between Cardiomagnyl and regular acetylsalicylic acid is the presence of additional substances in the composition that help reduce the risk of complications with constant use.
Composition and release form of the drug
The drug is available in white tablets. They can be oval or heart-shaped, depending on the dosage. "Cardiomagnyl" consists of two components, which are pharmacologically active substances:
- Acetylsalicylic acid or, as everyone used to call it, “Aspirin”. This component is part of the NSAID group, it can reduce platelet aggregation, which is known to increase the risk of a heart attack in the first place. When acetylsalicylic acid enters the body, the blood becomes more fluid, the pressure on the vessels decreases, and clotting slows down.
- Magnesium hydroxide provides protection for the epithelial layer of the intestines and stomach from the negative effects of aspirin. Magnesium hydroxide coats the mucous membranes, preventing the acid from reaching the wound surfaces, thereby causing pain. This is not the only function of magnesium. It also reduces vascular tone, which entails a decrease in blood pressure.
Indications for use
"Cardiomagnyl" is a drug to protect the body and prevent many dangerous diseases. With its help, you can prevent the development of heart attacks and strokes. But an important question remains open: is it possible to drink Cardiomagnyl with high blood pressure? And in general, does this well-known drug lower blood pressure or not? The answers to these questions and some others can be found in the list of indications:
- high levels of “bad” cholesterol;
- presence of diabetes mellitus;
- overweight;
- presence of hypertension (high blood pressure);
- old age, accompanied by a weakened state;
- smoking;
- IHD and angina pectoris;
- postoperative period.
The last point requires clarification. Surgeries performed on blood vessels can cause blood clots. To prevent this situation from occurring, it is recommended to take Cardiomagnyl. Also, taking Cardiomagnyl is necessary to prevent the occurrence of pathologies of the heart and vascular system. When taking the drug daily, a person receives powerful prevention of thrombosis and the development of acute heart failure.
Many hypertensive patients are interested in the question: is it possible to take Cardiomagnyl for hypertension? Necessary, even vital. True, there is no need to expect a significant and long-term decrease in pressure. This medicine is not an antihypertensive drug. But still, some decrease in blood pressure can be observed. A similar effect is achieved due to the effect of magnesium on blood vessels, or rather, on their walls. The tone of blood vessels decreases, and the walls themselves become stronger. This effect causes slight fluctuations in blood pressure.
